Biography

In June 1406, while he was attending Parliament at Westminster, Gregory acted as a mainpernor at the Exchequer for John Stoughton, a Guildford man who had been granted the custody of certain crown lands in Middlesex. Six months later a royal pardon was issued to Thomas Newport for accidentally killing John Hostyller, a servant to William Gregory ‘of Guildford’. Nothing more is known about the latter until 1414, when he attended the Guildford county court for the election of shire knights to the November Parliament.
