Biography

Haygoby was engaged in the manufacture of cloth at Bath, being assessed for alnage on six ‘dozens’ produced there between November 1395 and December 1396. He was one of a number of prominent citizens summoned to decide on the site for the new pillory in 1411, he himself being in favour of the old position. He was a member of the committee of four which returned the result of Bath’s parliamentary election to the sheriff of Somerset in November 1414.
