Biography

In 1378, after Lyme had been devastated by storms, Membury was one of only eight burgesses living in the town. Two years later he and nine other inhabitants were required to contribute to parliamentary subsidies, his own share being 3s. He witnessed deeds at Lyme in 1383, 1395 and 1396, on the last occasion on behalf of Walter Tropenell, his fellow Member in 1386 and 1388.
