Biography

In September 1408 Pursell was fined in the court of the honour of Arundel for transgressions against local trading regulations. He attended the shire court at Chichester for the parliamentary elections of November 1414, being among those made party to the indenture of return. At the inquest held at Arundel a few days after the death of Thomas, earl of Arundel, in October 1415, Pursell served as a member of the jury providing information about the deceased’s possessions. Joan Pursell, recorded on the court roll of the hundred of Arundel in 1427, may have been his wife or widow.
