Biography

Trenchard and his younger brother Richard were doubtless returned for Dorchester through the influence of their father the high steward of the borough. Christopher’s death was reported not long after the opening of the third session and the writ for a by-election to replace him was issued nearly two weeks later on 27 Jan. 1544.3
