Biography

After sitting for Tewkesbury as a Whig, and contesting Cirencester unsuccessfully in 1713, Bray was returned unopposed for the county in 1720 following the elevation of Matthew Ducie Moreton to the peerage. Shown in Sunderland’s plans for the 1722 Parliament as to be replaced by Kinard De La Bere, he did not stand again. He died 6 Sept. 1725, leaving his estates to his eldest son Reginald Morgan Bray, who in 1734 sold Barrington to Mary de Cardonnel, wife of William Talbot, later 2nd Lord Talbot.2
