Biography

Clarke, whose father had sat for Derbyshire 1685 and 1690-8, was returned for the county as a Tory, voting against the Government in 1719 on the repeal of the Occasional Conformity and Schism Acts and the peerage bill. Thereafter his only recorded vote was against the excise bill in 1733. He died 25 Mar. 1734.
