Biography
Cope came of a younger branch of the Copes of Hanwell, near Banbury, where the family had a strong interest. Returned for Banbury he voted against the Government in all recorded divisions. His name was sent to the Pretender as a probable supporter in 1721,1 in which year he inherited Hanwell2 (see Cope, Sir John). He died 28 Mar. 1765.
