Biography

Returned as a Tory for Cheshire after a contest in 1734, and unopposed in 1741, Crewe consistently voted against the Administration. In June 1747 he was put up for Staffordshire by the local Tories at the county meeting in opposition to Lord Gower’s interest,1 but was defeated, taking his seat for Cheshire, where he had been returned unopposed.

He died 18 Sept. 1752.
