Biography

William Egerton, who had been forced to sell his company in the Guards in March 1714,1 was reinstated after the Hanoverian succession and given a regiment in 1715. Returned for Brackley by his brother, the 1st Duke of Bridgwater, he voted with the Government in all recorded divisions till his death, 15 July 1732.
