Biography

Graeme belonged to a cadet branch of the family of the dukes of Montrose, to the first of whom his brother was bailie. Returned as a Whig at a by-election in 1724 for Perthshire, in which the Duke of Montrose had an interest, he died 14 Mar. 1726, leaving debts contracted through the extravagant collection of books and silver.1
