Biography
Nassau was returned for Colchester as a government supporter in 1747 on the interest of his brother, the 4th Earl of Rochford, who had inherited the Essex estates of the Rivers family through his mother.2 He did not stand in 1754 but reluctantly allowed himself to be returned as a stop-gap in 1774. He died 17 May 1780.
