Greatheed, after rejoining his family in St. Kitts for a few years,2 settled in England; in 1743 rented Guy’s Cliffe, a mile from Warwick, and bought it in 1750. In 1754 he contested Coventry on Lord Archer’s interest and was returned head of the poll. In Dupplin’s list he was classed as a supporter of Administration. He did not stand again in 1761. Henry Fox, writing to Egremont, 20 Feb. 1763, refers to Greatheed as ‘a great friend’ of his.3 In January 1764 Greatheed applied to Grenville to be made commissioner for the sale of lands in the conquered islands, but the post had already been filled.4
