Biography

Osbaldeston succeeded his brother without a contest at Scarborough. He was classed by Rockingham and Newcastle as a friend, and voted with them on the land tax, 27 Feb. 1767, and the nullum tempus bill, 17 Feb. 1768. At the contested election of 1768 he stood singly and without Government support. In the Parliament of 1768 only one vote by him is known: 25 Jan. 1770, with Opposition on Dowdeswell’s motion on the Middlesex election. There is no evidence of his having spoken in the House.  He died 11 June 1770.
