Biography

St. John was returned unopposed for Hampshire with the backing of the Duke of Chandos. His one recorded vote was with Opposition on Dunning’s motion, 6 Apr. 1780. Robinson in his electoral survey of 1780 wrote: ‘Sir H. P. St. John is often with us, but in the late questions was against or shirked. He is therefore only put down hopeful.’ There is no record of his having spoken in the House. He did not stand in 1780.

He died 7 Aug. 1784.
