Biography
Symons’s father, a successful London merchant, bought the Mynde Park estate near Hereford in 1750. In 1754 Symons successfully contested Hereford. He was invariably classed as Tory. In 1761 he again successfully contested Hereford. He does not appear in any minority lists during this Parliament, and in the autumn of 1763 was marked by Jenkinson as a Government supporter; but he naturally opposed the cider tax, and his only reported speech was against it.1 He died 30 Dec. 1763, aged 55.
