Biography

In 1780 Ward, backed by the corporation, was returned for Worcester after an expensive contest. In Parliament he supported North’s Administration till its fall; voted against Shelburne’s peace preliminaries, 18 Feb. 1783, but did not vote on Fox’s East India bill, 27 Nov. 1783. He was classed by Robinson in January 1784 as ‘doubtful, desperate’, and as ‘Administration’ in Stockdale’s list of 19 Mar. and by Adam in May; but no vote by him is recorded in this Parliament. Nor is there any report of his having ever spoken in the House.

He died 25 Apr. 1823.
