Biography

Curtis, a supporter of Pitt’s administration, was defeated at Saltash in 1784, and at Steyning, where he stood on the interest of and with Sir John Honywood*, in 1790. They were seated on petition. He had made no mark in the House when he vacated his seat, probably to oblige his patron, in 1794. Nor did he seek re-election. He died 30 Nov. 1813, aged 62. His widow married, on 8 Apr. 1826, Frederick Langley.

Gent. Mag. (1813), ii. 627; (1826), i. 364.
