Biography
Giles Eyre succeeded his uncle, John Eyre, at Downton, which he represented for over eighteen years, during which his only recorded votes were for the septennial bill in 1716 and the peerage bill in 1719. Retiring in 1734, he retained a diminishing number of burgages at Downton till his death, 7 June 1750.
